Speaker Bios:
Anesthesiology – Laszlo Vutskits, MD PhD
Dr. Vutskits is the Head of Pediatric Anesthesia at the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Intensive Care at the University Hospital of Geneva. His principal clinical interest is on the effects of the perioperative period on postoperative behavioural and cognitive outcome in children. His basic science and translational research activity is aimed to elucidate the mechanisms underlying anesthesia-induced modulation of neural plasticity in the developing brain. He also acts as the President of the European Society for Paediatric Anaesthesiology. He is an Editor of Anesthesiology and a Section Editor of Pediatric Anesthesia.

Anesthesia and Analgesia – James DiNardo, MD
Dr. DiNardo is the Chief of the division of cardiac anesthesia at Boston Children’s Hospital. He is also a Senior Oral Board Examiner for the ABA, a member of the ABA Pediatric Examination Writing Committee, and Chair of the Pediatric MOCA Examination Committee. He is the past president of both the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society and the Association of Cardiac Anesthesiologists. He is the Anesthesia and Analgesia Executive Editor of the Pediatric Anesthesia section. He is the author of two major textbooks on cardiac anesthesia and has more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.

Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia – Alexander Mittnacht, MD
Dr. Mittnacht is the Vice-Chair Department Anesthesiology and Chief of Pediatric & Adult Cardiac Anesthesia, at Westchester Medical Center in NY I’m also an Associate Editor for Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia/Section on Congenital Heart Disease.

Pediatric Anesthesia – Chandra Ramamoorthy, MD
Dr. Ramamoorthy is a Section editor for Pediatric Anesthesia. Passionate about advancing pediatric cardiac anesthesia. She is also a Past President of CCAS.

Education Mission Statement
The CCAS Webinar Series will focus on topics of interest to those who provide anesthesia, sedation, pain management, and critical care services to infants and children with heart disease, and adults with congenital heart disease. The overall goals for attendees of the program are to reinforce and enhance their existing fund of knowledge, while introducing them to new and state-of-the-art techniques and information that affect their practice and improve the perioperative care of patients with heart disease.
