Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology is not an ACGME fellowship at the present time. However, the goals and objectives have been defined and published as a Consensus Statement by the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society. There are 18 milestones expected from a 12-months fellowship and are based on the six core competencies:
- Medical knowledge
- Patient care
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Professionalism
- Practice-based learning and improvement
- Systems-based practice
