The Congenital Heart Academy is a web based educational platform dedicated to worldwide healthcare providers involved with Congenital Heart Diseases, sharing high quality scientific knowledge and experience, in a spirit of collaboration and union among the multidisciplinary team, all around the world, engaged in the care of patients with congenital or acquired heart defects, from the fetal life through adulthood.
We aim to reach every member of the multidisciplinary team worldwide, continuously delivering high level education, ultimately helping to improve team collaboration and patient care.
Since the pandemic began, the Congenital Heart Academy has put on more than 80 free webinars, with 16,000 unique participants and 125 countries represented. We’ve collaborated with the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society, Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society, the Society for Pediatric Cardiology Training Program Directors, Saudi Heart Society, Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Outcome Collaborative, Fetal Heart Gulf Group, and the Caspian Heart Foundation.
In addition, Congenital Heart Academy is a collaborator of the 8th World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, planning to showcast the content created for the 2023 World Congress in a virtual fashion.
The Congenital Heart Academy was founded by Dr Gil Wernovsky (Childrens National – Washington DC) and Dr Sasha Agati (Bambino Gesu Childrens Hospital – Italy). Dr Sasha and Dr Grace van Leeuwen (Sidra Medicine – Qatar) are the Co-Chairs.
All content is free, and allows participants to join on the zoom platform, interacting with the faculty (Q&A chatbox, polls, etc) and is broadcast live on YouTube.
