It has been a privilege to serve as Secretary/Treasurer of CCAS for the past two years. Prior to this I was elected to the CCAS Board of Directors for 4 years. However, I have been involved with the CCAS for much longer than this, initially starting the Newsletter and then helping with the development of the CCAS website and educational content. These roles are now being done by wonderful colleagues and friends who are doing an excellent job. I have been a member of the CCAS/STS Database committee since 2009. I have enjoyed attending, speaking and moderating at the CCAS Annual Meeting and was the Program Chair for the 2016 CCAS Annual Meeting in Colorado.

I have been a member of CPAS and the SPA since 2006 and I regularly attend the meetings. I was a speaker at the 2012 CCAS meeting in Tampa, FL and have presented posters at the 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015 CCAS and SPA meetings. I was a contributor to the Consensus Statement on the use of recombinant Factor VIIa. This statement was developed by the CCAS in 2010-2011.

I have been the Secretary of the Canadian Pediatric Anesthesia Society (CPAS) from 2016-2018 and have recently been elected the Vice-Chair of this Society. CPAS is the Canadian equivalent of the SPA. CPAS aims to represent the specialty of Pediatric Anesthesia at a national level, and through collaborations with other representative organizations, at an international level. CPAS plans, supports and implements educational opportunities at stand-alone meetings and at the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society meetings. CPAS also participates in national tele-rounds and online discussion forums.
I have represented the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine at The Hospital for Sick Children Medical Staff Association since 2017. This group represents the interests of medical, dental and scientific staff to the Hospital Executive and Board.
I have been a member of the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, Australia and New Zealand (SPANZA) since fellowship and regularly attend and present at their meetings.
