Are you interested in leading initiatives to help recruit trainees into the field of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology?

CCAS is looking for the inaugural chair of the Subcommittee for Congenital Cardiac Anesthesiology Engagement of Residents and Students (CCAERS), which is a new subcommittee with a focus on educational and recruitment efforts of trainees into the field of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology. CCAERS is a subcommittee of the CCAS Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Program Directors’ Committee (PCAPD). The chair and members of CCAERS do not need to be members of the PCAPD committee.

Submission Deadline: August 15, 2026

The CCAERS Chair will lead established and new initiatives, including:

• Trainee Corner at the CCAS annual meeting
• Meeting Scholarships for Trainees
• Collaboration with SPA’s Engagement with Residents and Students (SPAERS) Committee to develop targeted cardiac recruitment and educational material

 

Interested candidates should submit a one-page statement and CV to Jenny Patterson at [email protected] by August 15, 2026. The statement should outline your reasons for wanting to be the Chair of the Subcommittee for Congenital Cardiac Anesthesiology Engagement of Residents and Students and any experiences that will contribute to your success in this position. Please note that this is a two-year term.
