The Communications Committee is seeking CCAS members to serve as journal article reviewers for the CCAS/Congenital Heart International Professionals (CHiP) Journal Watch Collaborative. Through this collaboration, we contribute a few article reviews a year to the network, which are published on the CHiP Network website. These reviews are also featured in our CCAS Newsletter which will be posted on the CCAS Website. We invite you to provide your expert insights and perspectives to this joint venture.
If you would like to contribute, please contact the CHiP Network Article Review Editors Dr. Amy Fang, at [email protected] and Dr. Rebecca Hamilton at [email protected].

The Society of Thoracic Surgery and Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society (STS-CCAS) Database is a joint effort between the STS and the CCAS to create a resource for local quality improvement, national benchmarking, and research in congenital cardiac anesthesia. Starting in 2010, it has grown into a large resource with over 100,000 cases containing anesthesia data.
We are calling for a Vice-chair for this STS-CCAS Committee from 2025-2027. The expectation is that this is a 2-year position, after which the Vice- chair will become the Chair for 2 years and then the Past-chair for 2 years. As the Vice-chair, the individual will be responsible for attending monthly online meetings with the STS congenital database group. In addition, there will be a gradual transition of roles and responsibilities given the large and complex nature of this database. It will also be expected that the Vice-chair will join the STS as an associate physician member. Please see the STS website for further details.
If you are interested in this position, please send your recent CV. In addition, a letter of interest is necessary. Please email your CV and letter of interest to Jenny Patterson at [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is March 10, 2025. Any prior involvement in the STS database at the local level and past or current participation with the CCAS STS database committee should be highlighted.
